  • About meWelcome to my website! About me I’m a historian of twentieth-century U.S. culture and politics, and a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at Yale University. My dissertation examines minority groups’ campaigns to combat stereotypes and encourage “positive” representations in film, television, and other media between the 1940s and the 1990s. My broad research and teaching interests include U.S. history since 1865, U.S. cultural history, gay and lesbian history, the history of gender and sexuality, African American history, urban history, and the regional history of New England in the twentieth century. I currently live in New York City with my husband, Ryan McAuliffe. About this website I aim to use this website to communicate about my research, academic interests, and professional activities and to interact with both colleagues and members of the broader public. My CV provides background on my past publications, presentations, and teaching experience; in coming months, I hope to make it more web-friendly. You can also read more about my dissertation.
